REVIEW
The human brain is amazing in two ways: it has an exceptional design and, at the same time, is capable of impressive feats. This astonishing book is dedicated, from cover to cover, to exploring this special mass housed in our skull. It covers the brain's different parts, their functions, how they communicate with each other, and how they control the rest of the body. It also covers coordination, balance, memory and language, sensory perception, emotions, empathy, and the possibility of training our brains. The text and numerous panel-style illustrations explain all of this in a clear, focused, well-structured way. The book conveys a wealth of information without overloading the pages or overwhelming the reader. Each chapter includes invitations to try simple, self-guided experiments. As readers try these experiments — testing their senses, their balance, or their ability to remember — they become more aware of what happens in their "control center," and how this organ is responsible for these achievements and abilities.
