Authors
Luz María Del Valle is a journalist and writer. She was born in 1978 in Santiago, Chile. She lived for 11 years in Spain, where she received her first literary award, and back in Chile she studied Journalism and later Children's Literature and Reading Development with Cecilia Beuchat. In 2008 she published her first novel, Yacay en las tierras del buen viento. In 2012 she received an Honorable Mention in the First Chilean Children's Poetry Contest. Today, alongside writing, she runs workshops for children and educators.
Joaquín Camp was born in Buenos Aires in 1987. As a child, his grandmother Antonia read him stories by Oscar Wilde and tales from Greek mythology. He studied Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires, where he later taught Illustration in the Roldan chair. As an illustrator, he has worked for publishers in Argentina, Spain, Italy, Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
His work was selected for the Illustrators Exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2019, 2020 and 2024. He was also included in the Iberoamerican Catalog in 2016, 2018 and, with an honorable mention, in 2020. He was also part of the Golden Pinwheel catalog in 2021.
In 2020 he won the Gran Canaria Insular Library's International Picture Book Contest with his book Aníbal, el perro fantasma. Joaquín also won the Fundación Cuatro Gatos award, the Banco de Venezuela award, and was recognized on the IBBY Alija list in 2022 with the same book.
