The Three Little Pigs
By Eugenia Perrella
Illustrated by Angela Salerno
Los tres cerditos ("The Three Little Pigs") is a 19th-century folk fable of unknown authorship. It tells the story of three brothers who, chased by the big bad wolf, learn the importance of effort and hard work in earning a reward.
While there are records of the story's publication dating back to the mid-1800s, it's worth noting that it's such a popular tale that it was likely passed down orally with great ease long before that. Later, film and animated versions helped popularize the story throughout the entire world.
In literature, it's been retold hundreds of times by different authors in different languages. There are also songs and plays that have told the story of these three brothers fleeing the big bad wolf many times over.
